Wow, the word to describe 2011…roller coaster ride. The beginning of this year saw me taking the biggest jump of my life so far…moving hundreds of kilometers away to the big city of Cape Town. I can easily say it’s the best decision I ever made. I’ve made new friends, broken out of my shell, learnt to live without parents, and had a blast along the way. This year has been filled with amazing concerts, outdoor festivals and many other late nights [or early mornings, whichever way you want to look at it]. This year also saw me starting this blog. Yeah it’s started off slow, but it’s something I’ve really enjoyed doing and I’m making it a promise to be more dedicated in 2012. Thank you to all of those who have given me feedback both good and constructive throughout the year. I wish all of you a wonderful holiday season.
Time for some R&R
Now it’s time to get away for a while. Recharge so I can hit 2012 with a bang. Got some big things planned for the next year. But for now, ciao rockstars.
A friend of mine passed away this week. This is in memory of him.
RIP Emmy ❤
I went out for sushi the other night with a couple of friends, and the subject turned to women shopping andmoved on to online shopping. My one friend told me how she is in love with asos.com. So when I got home I checked it out. I’ve basically been on ever since, paging through all the pages of clothes. For hours. I understand I may be behind the times. Don’t judge me.
You able to purchase the latest dresses, jeans, shoes and any other clothing online. And they deliver to South Africa! Unfortunately it does work out a bit expensive because you have to convert to Rands blah blah. But browsing the site has giving me some fashion ideas and just drooling over the clothes is sort of good enough. If anyone wants to give me a present, just give me cash money so I can spend copious amounts on Asos 😛
So check out asos.com and happy shopping/browsing.
I thought I’d share a blog I’ve been following for ages. It’s a fashion photography blog. Anyone who knows me will know my obsession for fashion and style. This blog is The Sartorialist. It’s a fashion blog by Scott Schuman in New York and the pictures he takes are amazing!
Scott Schuman left his fashion sales position in 2005 to take care of his daughter. He began carrying his digital camera around, taking pictures of people who were dressed in ways that caught his eye. He posted these pictures to a blog. This was the start of fashion photography in a blog form.
On fashionista.com, another site I visit regularly, they busy advertising for an assistant to Scott Schuman. Omg! Dream job! I wish I was done with my damn degree already.
It’s Monday. We all need an extra reason to smile on Mondays. Today I thought I’d share one of my favourite Youtube personalities/ comedians….Jenna Marbles.
Jenna became known for her video “How To Trick People Into Thinking You’re Good Looking”, which had over 5.3 million views in its first week . The ladies loved it. Her video “How To Avoid Talking To People You Don’t Want To Talk To” was featured in an August article in the New York Times in which she said, “I’m sick and tired of guys thinking that just because I showed up at a club or a dance or a bar, that I want to have their genitalia touching my back side.” She now has over a million subscribers to her Youtube channel.
There’s many more on Youtube. Hope you enjoy
